Honesmith Optics Privacy Policy

Honesmith Optics is designed to work locally on your device. We do not operate an account system, advertising system, analytics service, or cloud photo-processing service for this app.

Information we collect

Honesmith Optics does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal information, photos, videos, camera data, or usage history with Honesmith Studio or third parties.

Camera and microphone

Camera access is used only to provide camera preview and capture functions.

Microphone access is used only when you record video with audio. Audio is processed and saved locally as part of the recording. It is not uploaded by Honesmith Optics.

Photos and media library

Honesmith Optics may request permission to:

add photos and videos created by the app to your Photos library; and
read photos and videos that you allow the app to access, so that the in-app Gallery can display, play, browse, and delete those items.

You may grant full access, limited access, or deny access through iOS. When limited access is granted, the app can access only the items you select.

Media accessed through the in-app Gallery remains managed by Apple Photos and stays on your device or in the Apple services you have independently enabled, such as iCloud Photos. Honesmith Optics does not upload or copy your media to Honesmith Studio servers.

Deletion requests made from the in-app Gallery are performed through Apple’s Photos framework and are subject to the system confirmation shown by iOS.

Purchases

Optional Pro features are offered through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. Payments, transaction records, and Apple Account information are processed by Apple. Honesmith Optics receives only the entitlement status needed to determine whether purchased features should be unlocked. We do not receive your payment-card details.

Settings and local data

App settings, feature preferences, camera profiles, and other operational data are stored locally on your device. Removing the app may remove locally stored app data, subject to iOS behavior and any data separately stored in Apple Photos.

Diagnostics

Diagnostic records are created and stored locally. They are designed to avoid raw photos, raw video frames, account identifiers, and direct device identifiers. Honesmith Optics does not automatically upload diagnostics.

Diagnostics leave your device only when you explicitly choose to export or share them using the iOS share interface. The destination and recipient are selected by you.

Network access

The core camera, gallery, editing, settings, and diagnostic functions do not require a Honesmith Studio account or Honesmith Studio cloud service. Store availability, purchases, restores, and Apple-managed media services may require connections operated by Apple.

Children

Honesmith Optics is not designed to collect personal information from children, and the app does not knowingly collect personal information from any user.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when app functions, permissions, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
